Katherine Leydon-Smith FIDTA

Katherine, a renowned teacher of dance, has worked at Pontefract Squash club since its formation in 1979 and runs her successful and thriving school of dance based here. The Leydon-Smith School of Theatre Dance has over 150 children and adult pupils attending her very popular classes. Pupils work towards IDTA examinations and exam pass rates are outstanding.

The Leydon-Smith School of Theatre Dance has classes suitable for children and adults. The classes include ballet, tap, modern jazz, street dance, musical theatre and cheerleading.
Every three years the school performs a major theatrical show, which is held locally at Pontefract Town Hall, the talent that comes through is incredible and proceeds from the show support local charities. In addition, the Cabaret Class performs an annual ‘Cabaret Evening’ which is great fun and very popular.
