Our Pumas team were eagerly anticipating their first home match at Pontefract HQ this evening, brimming with energy and excitement. With the home crowd behind them, the players were ready to leave it all on the court. However, we knew this was going to be a challenging encounter, as Collingham had the advantage of experience, having competed in Division 2 last season.

Despite the tough opposition, every member of the team displayed incredible grit and determination, fighting hard to secure valuable points that could help us climb the league table. From thrilling rallies to strategic plays, there were moments of brilliance throughout the evening that demonstrated just how much potential and resilience this team possesses.

In the end, we came away with a hard-fought 3-6 defeat, but the scoreline doesn’t fully reflect the fantastic effort and quality of play our team put on display. Every match was contested with passion and sportsmanship, and many games were tantalisingly close. The Pumas showed they’re more than capable of competing at this level and deserved even more from the night.
